The Iron is an in house design by Reate's design team. It is a medium, but stout and chubby knife that fits in hand like gloves. The handle is chamfered and rounded well all around and the large palm swell feels excellent no matter how you hold the knife. Aesthetically, the handle is just as impressive too. The carbon fiber inlays are seamlessly fitted on the titanium handles and are held by a hidden screw for a clean look. The visible hardware and pivot screws are anodized green, adding a beautiful pop of colour. The lock side isn't left plain either and features beautiful milling pattern with the outline of the front handle.
 
The drop point blade with a nice belly is an excellent cutter, with arguably the best knife steel on the market, the Bohler M390. The blade is finished in bi-directional satin and features a top swedge. Deployment via dual thumb studs is a breeze. It is fast and snappy and smooth on closing too.
