Benchmade brings its Gold Class back into session with custom knifemaker Jared Oeser to produce a premium version of his popular Tengu folder. Originally announced in January 2021, it seems only fitting that this upscaled version of the Tengu is “inspired by the Scandinavian winter.”
 
The Benchmade 601-211 Gold Class Tengu is a fully upscale version of the popular 601 flipper. This special edition knife features Damascus steel, premium marbled carbon fiber, and anodized titanium liners. The Gold Class series represents the best of the Benchmade product line - and changes every year.
 
The Tengu flipper model is designed by world-renowned custom knifemaker Jared Oeser. The quick opening 601-211 features a stainless steel damsacus blade that is handcrafted in Sweden by the Damasteel company. The blade comes with a Rockwell Hardness of 59-61 so it is both attractive and holds an edge. This damascus steel had two advantages: holds and edge extremely well and doesn't rust. You get the best of both worlds with this high-end material.
 
The handle is made from marbled white and black carbon fiber scales. A cut out in the black layer of the blue G-10 exposes a shield escutcheon. The fittings on the knife are blue anodized. The handle has a very strong titanium liner lock design. A full-length spacer in Raffir Noble "Blue Uranium" color synthetic layered material that has color-shifting features. The Benchmade 601 Tengu comes with a high-quality black sharkskin leather sleeve style sheath with matching blue stitching.
