The WE Double Helix is a futuristic knife with an interesting, patented Slide Lock mechanism. The Slide Lock is essentially similar to Benchmade's Axis lock or SOG's Arc Lock in operation, with a couple of differences. The main difference is that the Slide Lock is both the locking mechanism as well as the unlock/ deployment mechanism. WE has gone with the bold move to place the two large tension bars on the exterior part of the handle, rather than inside. Each of these tension bars is connected to either side of the slider. To deploy the blade, pull back the slider bar on both sides simultaneously and flick the blade open.
 
The double layered titanium handle is thick & robust. The knife feels comfortable and solid in the hand and carries comfortably in the pocket too. The slim S35VN blade is hollow ground and finished in fine stonewash. The slim blade profile and the drop point blade style makes for a very practical blade for daily use.
