Scott Reynolds Custom Hunter Knife RWL34 Blade Electric Plum Micarta Mosaic Pins

Scott Reynolds is an Australian knifemaker, a long term member of Australian Knifemakers Guild and a master of his craft. Scott also runs knifemaking classes and has taught many knifemakers the ABC of the trade. He also happens to make some of the cleanest custom knives we have seen. His attention to smallest details and ability to achieve excellent fit & finish puts Scott Reynolds on the short list of our favourite Aussie makers.
 
This custom hunter is a prime example of Scott Reynolds’s fine craftsmanship and eye for details. This commission piece was made using top shelf materials only. The handle material is called Electric Plum Micarta. It's a very interesting Micarta colour with brass wire in it, very similar to lightning strike carbon fibre (LSCF). This is a very hard to get material, especially in Australia. The handle sits on top of handsome brass liners and matching brass spacer separates the Electric Plum handle from the black Micarta bolsters. A set of beautiful mosaic pins complete this exotic handle.
 
The blade is made of Damasteel's RWL-34 steel in a traditional drop point with a very clean hand rubbed satin finish. On the front side, you have Scott Reynolds’s makers mark stamped on the blade. This custom hunter is easily one the most ergonomic knives we have ever handled, and we have handle A LOT of knives. The handle is perfectly shaped to fit the hand and is rounded so well that it almost feels like an extension of your arm. The knife is handle heavy which makes it even more comfortable to work with and allows for fine cutting tasks.
 
Last but not least, the knife comes with a high quality handmade and hand tooled leather sheath made by Scott Reynolds.
